![]() A talk to the men’s breakfast at Emmanuel church Barnsley on 29th May 2010 at 8.30am. I am a father and husband born again Christian. I am a minister of religion for 26 yrs including 4 yrs in the uk. i) Hon. Curate at St. G’s church Barnsley majoring in pastoral and sacramental ministry and leader of a newly formed home group as well as an international praise and worship team. ii) Chaplain in a hospital in Wakefield the dept of pastoral and spiritual care. Examples of two patients Peter Brandon and Godwin Atkins. iii) Water project In 2008 my wife and I founded a Kenyan water project namely ‘Gacharu’ the documentary of which I will be showing in a few minutes time. This came as a result of an earlier vision that God gave me while attending a one month intensive course for international executive leaders in Mid Pacific centre, Maui- Hawaii in 1996. Also my late father used to encourage his children challenging us to be courageous and hand working. In our village in Kenya fetching is traditionary women’s job. Women fetch water from the river three miles or more from home. As a result many women have developed accumulative fatigue leading to health complications especially during child bearing etc,. For this reason my wife and I came up with the idea of founding the clean piped water and sanitation to our village which consists of 24000 people. So far we have supplied it to 6000 people. Ø Challenge Saint Peter the Apostle have a challenge us today from his first letter chapter 4 vs 10’ Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone serves he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. ‘Attempt great things for God, expect great things from God’ Said William Carey the father of modern missions, an English Baptist Missionary from Northampton 1761-1834. |
