GACHARU WATER PROJECT

Kenya trip update.

The trip starts on 14th FEB at Manchester airport and ends on 4th March 2012 with team members coming back at different times.

We aim to connect water to phase two of the Gacharu water project and do a small bridge for ease of transportation. This will be determined by the money available.

i)        £845 was raised during the Christmas fete November last year. Chege Mwangi from Castleford  has pledged £30 (calendars).

ii)      Eva’s class at Barnsley college are doing fund raising for the water project.

iii)     Staff from Fieldhead hospital are collecting items (including clothing, footwear etc.) to be taken to Kenya.

iv)     Jane Wangai  from wakefield would like to start a standing order for £ 10 monthly for Gacharu water project.

v)       Committee members of the Water Project will give £12 a year each with Benson and Elizabeth giving £ 60 per year.

vi)    Barnsley Hospice has given us medical sundries.

vii)  St. George’s pcc agreed to donate £50

viii)            Nadia has given £30

ix)    Rahab gave £100 (calendars)

x)      Elizabeth’s place of work( Holy Tree Lodge) in Shafton are raising funds towards the Gacharu water Project.

Prayer requests

i)        For good health to all the members of the team good security and protection

ii)       Benson & Elizabeth for wisdom as they lead the mission.

iii)    That GOD will provide wisdom and anointing during all the speaking engagements in various churches in Kirinyaga  Kenya.

iv)     Speaking engagements includes; Kiangombe mission (Pentecostal church mission crusade with leadership seminars

v)      KAMA diocesan conference.

vi)    Mental illness workshop which will be attended by the local bishop and  the local MP who is also the Minister for Nairobi Metropolitan Development etc,.

vii)   The smooth work of the project and good organization by the local leaders.

KENYA TRIP 2012 PREPARATIONS

 Gacharu Water Project have organised a trip to Kenya for a double mission. Firstly to continue with the provision of clean piped water and sanitation to Gacharu village community. Secondly, we shall also organise a one day workshop on the theme of " Fighting mental illness stigma in Kenya". So far 7 people have shown interest of wanting to go for the mission which will take place in February next year. The project management committee has organised a Christmas fete on November 19th 2011 at st. george's Church barnsley, York street, Barnsley, S70 1BD from 12noon.

Attractions will include:- Tombola, White Elephant, Sample African dishes,Guess the name of the Bear,

15 minutes Massage sessions with Indian Head Massage, shoulder & back massage,Holistic facial, Hand & Foot massage, Quantum Touch etc,.

Distinguished guests will include MP Dan Jarvis and Councillor Cath Mitchell.

Come expecting a thrilling wnderful family afternoon out and raise money for the Gacharu water project.
